Road Closures
|
1ST AUGUST 2024 The Shire of Three Springs wishes to inform you about a crucial matter that concerns the safety of all road users in the Shire of Three Springs. Our local government has adopted a standard practice of temporarily closing gravel roads during rainfall events. This is done to ensure the safety of road users, preserve the road, and facilitate necessary road works repairs. As a responsible business operating in our community, we urge you to take this matter seriously and to comply with the road closure signs when they are displayed. The local government has the legal authority to temporarily close roads for various reasons, including construction, maintenance, events, or safety concerns. The road will be reopened when hazardous conditions have passed, or the required remedial works have been completed. It is essential to recognize that driving on a closed road is both illegal and dangerous. Closed roads are often closed for a reason, such as hazardous conditions or ongoing maintenance, and driving on them can put the driver and other road users at risk. This practice is unacceptable and poses a severe threat to public safety. As a business owner, you have a legal obligation to comply with road closure signs and to ensure the safety of your employees and customers. Failure to do so could result in severe legal consequences, including financial penalties if your actions cause damage to the road or other property. Moreover, if your business operation relies on access to gravel roads that are likely to be closed during rainfall events, we urge you to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimize the potential impact on your operations. In conclusion, we remind all businesses in the Shire of Three Springs to follow the instructions of road closure signs and to avoid using closed roads for their own safety and the safety of others. We take the safety of our residents very seriously, and we appreciate your cooperation during temporary road closures. Your compliance with this essential safety protocol is crucial in ensuring the well-being of everyone in our community. |
